General
When editing a creative or creative template in its Set step, you can edit the dynamic parameters and preview modifications across all available ad formats (sizes) before saving the changes.
Note: A creative may be used in multiple campaigns, and changes to the creative will automatically update on all campaigns it is used in.
Setting Dynamic Parameter Values
A dynamic parameter has a "default value" and an "optional value" for each ad format (size). For workflow simplification purposes, the default value is used to set the same value for multiple ad sizes. If you want different values per ad size, use the value per specific ad format.
Note: You can disable default values for a creative template or creative by toggling Default.
The number of dynamic parameters available may vary from creative to creative, as these values are inherited from the creative template. Each dynamic parameter type has different editing options (e.g., for images and videos, you can upload the asset from your local device or Assets Library; for color parameters, you have a color picker). For example, we have the following categories and their respective parameters in this creative, all defined with a default value.
| Category | Parameters |

- To edit a dynamic parameter default value, click on the dynamic parameter row to expand, then hover and click on the editor box in the leftmost column.
- To edit a dynamic parameter value for a specific size, click on the dynamic parameter row to expand, then hover and click on the editor box on the respective ad-size column.
Example: Change the "default value" on Message 1 Text Color to Red (Default was White).
Note: This change will be applied to all ad sizes because the change took place under the Default settings. To change the value just for one ad size, follow the same steps, but click Edit Formats for the desired ad size as explained above.
Previewing Changes
- Changes to the dynamic parameter values are immediately reflected in the Preview pane.
- Changing a default value will be reflected on all ad format previews that don't have a dedicated value.
- Note that the real-time preview reflects changes that aren't necessarily saved. Click Save once you are satisfied with the changes you made.
Saving Changes
- The red dot next to Save indicates that changes haven't been saved.
- Click Save to save all changes.
- A confirmation message lets you know the changes were saved successfully
- A warning message will appear if you try to exit the Creative Editor without saving
- Click the arrow next to the Save button to Discard Changes or to Save As a different creative. Save As will create a new creative and carry over any unsaved changes.
Dynamic Parameter Actions
Flight Control offers advanced actions to update the value of dynamic parameters across the ad sizes.
Click the vertical ellipsis icon next to the dynamic parameter to see the following options:
- Rename: This lets you rename the creative template’s dynamic parameter.
- Generate Images: Generates all images for an image dynamic parameter's formats.
- Upload Images: This lets you upload one or more images to simultaneously assign them to an image dynamic parameter's formats.
- Edit Formats: opens the edit functionality across all formats. Another way to open the edit functionality is to click the "=" sign available in the individual format.
- Reset Formats: If you change the value on all or any of the formats, clicking Reset Formats will revert the format's dynamic parameter value across all edited formats to the default value
- Delete Parameter: Removes the dynamic parameter from the creative template.
Copy
- Click the Copy icon (when available) to copy the value from another format. Example: The CTA value for the 160x600 format is "Apply Now", you would select the 300x250 format from the list if you want to use that CTA value instead, which is "Apply Today!"
- Select No Value when you do not want to show the value in the ad. Example: The CTA value for the 160x600 format is "Apply Now", if you select No Value from the list, then the text "Apply Now" won't show on the ad.
- Select Default Value to use the dynamic parameter’s default value for the ad format.
Dynamic Sources
Click the Dynamic Source icon to bring in dynamic values from an external data source, such as a content feed, location feed, product feed, and/or weather data, to the creative. The Dynamic Source icon is available for templates that have the Content, Location, Product, or Weather Feature(s) enabled.
The Dynamic Source list will display only items available in that source. For example, when the Product feature is enabled, only product-related fields will be available in the list.
Complex Text
- Click the Convert to Complex Text icon
to open an advanced text editor that allows full control of the text styling per word or character.
