General
The Ads table, a required step within Flight Control social campaigns, displays all campaign ads planned to be published or already published to the relevant social media platform based on your campaign logic. Here, you can:
- Generate and render ad variations based on your campaign logic.
- Preview and edit the planned ad variations.
- Fine-tune ad elements like the name, header, call to action, and more.
- Publish the planned (draft) ads to the social media platform once ready.
- Monitor the status of ads published to the relevant social media platform, including their approval statuses within the social media platforms.
Ads are automatically generated once the following is completed:
- Connect ad sets/groups to your campaign.
- Configure Campaign Logic for your campaign.
- Resolve any campaign setup errors. Note: Ads won't generate if there are any outstanding errors on the campaign.
- Receive campaign step approvals from designated account users.
Accessing the Ads Table
- Click on the Ads step in your social campaign's header.
Generating and Rendering Ads
To generate and render ad variations after completing or revising your campaign logic, you can go to the Ads table and click Generate Ads (or click it within the campaign's Header). Ads can fail to be generated, in which case, you can click Try Again within the campaign's header to reattempt ad generation after resolving issues.
Ads in Preview Mode
Preview mode lets you preview both planned and published ads. Flight Control simulates ad previews for unpublished ads, while published ads use actual ad previews sourced from social media platforms.
You can also generate a preview link for external sharing.
- Placement Selection: This drop-down menu allows you to select one, multiple, or all social media placement formats for viewing your campaign ads (examples: Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
- Preview Display: This lets you preview your campaign ads in the formats chosen in the Placement selection drop-down.
- Preview Export: Click the link icon to copy a shareable link for previewing the Ads table.

-
Certain changes made to a campaign while in flight can create new ads (instead of updating existing ads) and, consequently, new ad IDs, replacing existing ads in the social platform. When replacing an existing ad, all subsequent data collection (e.g., metrics) applies to the new ad, and the creative optimization learning phase restarts. The following campaign changes will result in the replacement of an ad/ad ID in the social platform:
- Replacing a creative card.
- Changing the Product ID shown in the ad.
- Ads planned for deletion are only disabled within Meta Ads Manager when a new campaign version is active.
- Unchanged ads from previous campaign versions will still serve according to previous version setups, even after publishing more ads and activating new campaign versions.
