General
The creative template editor allows you to build ads with dynamic parameters and map these dynamic parameters to creative layers.
Note: You can customize the dynamic parameter names and categories in your account's Taxonomy settings with the Content Taxonomy.
Adding Dynamic Parameters to a Template
- Go to the template's Map step.
- Choose a method for adding a dynamic parameter and follow its subsequent steps:
-
Manual: Generates dynamic parameters without mapping them to the layers.
- Click the plus sign next to the Dynamic Parameters label.
- Select a dynamic parameter type: Text, Image, Video, Color, Link (used for multiple click areas), Selector, QR Code, Font, or Widget.
- Select a category from the list.
- Note: The Product, Content, and Location categories will only appear if you have enabled the corresponding Product, Content, or Location creative template features.
- Select a UI name from the list, or enter a custom one if it doesn't exist.
- If you're creating a Selector or Widget dynamic parameter, perform the corresponding step:
- Selector: Enter up to four selector values. (You can add selector value fields by clicking the plus sign.)
- Widget: Select a creative widget from your account's Creative Widget Library in the Widget Type dropdown.
- Click OK.
- Map the new dynamic parameter to an applicable layer type.
-
Automatic: Creates dynamic parameters and maps them to the corresponding layer(s).
- Click the ellipsis icon beside the ad format and select Auto Create.
- Both options will automatically generate dynamic parameters across all ad formats by analyzing layer composition and matching it to the corresponding layers. Flight Control considers the layer type and name to determine which dynamic parameters to create and map.
- Note: This feature may generate more dynamic parameters than you anticipate. However, you have the flexibility to delete any unnecessary parameters later. Additionally, you can rename the dynamic parameters as required.
- Click the ellipsis icon beside the ad format and select Auto Create.
-
Manual: Generates dynamic parameters without mapping them to the layers.
- Click Save.
- Go to the Set step and click inside each parameter row to add the value you want to include in the creative. You can set a default value for all template ad sizes or define different values for each format.
