General
You can manually add a third-party tracker to a campaign by completing the Add Tracker form.
For more information on trackers, see Campaign Trackers.
Note: This only applies to programmatic campaigns, not social campaigns, as social campaign trackers are created within the respective social platform and applied to the social creative within Flight Control.
User Permissions
- You need the Campaigns user permission to add or modify campaign trackers.
Add a Campaign Tracker Manually
Step 1: Go to the Add Tracker Form
Follow these steps to add a tracker manually:
- Go to a campaign's Tracker step.
- Click Create > Create Tracker.
Step 2: Configure the Tracker Type and URL
- Select a tracker type.
- For more information on tracker types, see Ad Tracker Overview.
- Enter the tracker's URL.
- Optional. Append one or more macros to the tracker URL.
Step 3 (Optional): Enter External Provider Information
Note: External provider information comes from providers such as Google Campaign Manager 360 and is for informational purposes only (to help you map trackers to their relevant Flight Control placement, creative, and/or ad size).
- Ext. Placement ID: Enter an alphanumeric ID for the external placement.
- Ext. Placement Name: Enter a name for the external placement.
- Site: Displays the publisher or DSP where ads will be served.
- Ext. Ad ID: Enter an alphanumeric ID for the external ad.
- Ext. Ad Name: Enter a name for the external ad.
- Ext. Creative ID: Enter an alphanumeric ID for the external creative.
- Ext. Creative Name: Enter a name for the external creative.
Step 4: Apply the Tracker to Campaign Elements
Now, apply the tracker to Flight Control campaign placements, creatives, and/or ad sizes:
- Select one or all campaign placements to apply the tracker to.
- The DSP field will be auto-selected according to your selected campaign placement(s).
- Select one or all campaign creatives to apply the tracker to.
- Note: This option only displays if you've added the creatives dimension using the Edit Tracking Level action.
- Select one or all campaign ad sizes to apply the tracker to.
- Note: This option only displays if you've added the ad sizes dimension using the Edit Tracking Level action.
- If you added additional Advanced Tracking options within the Edit Tracking Level action, handle selections for those product, sport, placement, DSP, and/or location fields.
- Click Create.
The new tracker will be displayed in the campaign's Trackers table.
