General
A landing page configured for a campaign defines the click-through URL for campaign ads.
Three places exist within a campaign's setup where you can designate a landing page:
- Campaign Card > Campaign Info:
- Defines the 'default' landing page for the campaign, provided no other landing page is set up in the campaign
- You can add macros for dynamic parameters insertion in real time
- Placement:
- Defines the landing page at the placement level which provides more granularity
- Creative Card:
- On the creative level the user can either:
- Insert a landing page URL manually, or
- Select the source of the landing page from a dropdown, including from a product feed, location feed, content feed, placement level, campaign level, or from a DSP.
- To understand the usage of each source, hover on the option to read the description
- On the creative level the user can either:
Flight Control decides the Landing page (Click-Through) to use during ad impression as follows:
- Look at the creative level setup, if there is a manual landing page URL, this URL will be taken
- If the creative setup defines a source for the landing page, Flight Control tries to fetch the URL from that source
- If it fails, it fallbacks to the placement-level landing page
- If it fails, it fallbacks to the campaign-level landing page
UTM Parameters
- UTM parameters are URL parameters which will be appended to the decided landing page
- Clinch keeps the UTM parameters setup separate from the landing page, since the landing page can be fetched from many sources
- There are 2 places in the campaign setup where the user can setup the UTM parameters:
- On the placement level (inside the placement modal)
- In the creative (inside the creative card drawer)
- In both cases, the user can include macros for dynamic values insertion in real time
- Flight Control will use the UTM parameters on the creative level, and only if one does not exist, will fallback to use the UTM parameters on the placement level.
Note: To append UTMs to products in a product feed, you can include the UTM in the product's landing page URL within the feed.
