General
You can manually create a programmatic campaign placement by completing the Add Placement form.
For more information on programmatic campaign placements, see Campaign Placements.
Create a Placement Manually
Follow these steps to create a placement manually:
- Go to the campaign's Placements table.
- Click Create > Create Placement.
- Enter a unique alphanumeric value for the placement ID.
- Enter a name for the placement.
- Choose a publisher to use for the placement.
- This is the media partner to which the ad tags will be trafficked/delivered.
- If the publisher you need isn’t available for selection, create a Help Center support ticket, or contact your Clinch account representative requesting their inclusion.
- Select a specific ad size for the placement, or select All to include all possible ad sizes.
- Important: Don't select an ad size that is unsupported by your campaign’s included creatives.
- Selecting All optimizes trafficking efficiencies in Flight Control.
- This also allows for a better, more unified creative preview experience in Flight Control, where you can preview all ad formats simultaneously when doing so.
- When a placement ad size is set to All, it means it can accommodate all supported creative ad sizes. When publishing the placement to the DSP, a creative is made in the DSP for each ad size.
- Select the correct ad environment to use for the placement.
- This affects the functionality of the generated ad tags. For more information, see Ad Serving Environments.
-
Target platforms for video campaigns:
- Target platforms determine how Flight Control renders your campaign's video assets. Flight Control automatically selects target platforms for placements according to the selected DSP/publisher and ad-serving environment.
- Hover over the selected target platform to see its specific video rendering specifications.
- Note: You should only change a DSP's target platform selection if you have a programmatic deal with a publisher that requires rendering specifications not covered by the default. Also note that single publisher instances should never be overridden, as the default will always meet the one-to-one publisher requirements.
-
Optional. Select one or more custom parameter fields and values to include for the placement.
- The placement custom parameters are a list of key-value parameters intended for several purposes:
- Flight Control campaign decisioning: The custom parameter can be selected as a signal for condition cards and product selection cards.
- Ad trafficking purposes: Some custom parameters are used to inject values to creatives trafficked to DSP.
- Reporting purposes: The custom parameter value can be selected in My Reports.
- To understand each custom parameter's use case, hover over its field name to view the description. For more information, see Custom Placement Parameters.
