General
Audio campaigns enable the delivery of standard (non-dynamic) audio advertisements across various digital channels, including online radio, streaming music platforms, podcasts, and other smart-speaker media.
You can use audio campaigns to serve directly on audio publishers such as Spotify, iHeartMedia, NGLmitu, and AdsWizz, in addition to serving through DSPs like The Trade Desk, Display & Video 360 (DV360), Microsoft (formerly Xandr), Yahoo, and Nexxen.
Audio ads are served using VAST XML (2.0) tags. Creatives for this campaign type are uploaded to your account's Creative Library.
Flight Control supports serving companion banners with audio ads, but doesn't control whether the audio platform supports companion banners or not. Always consult with your audio media partner before setting up your campaign. These banners, which also track clicks, can be added when making an audio creative.
Note: Flight Control only supports static audio creatives currently, meaning content from location, product, or content feeds can't be used to alter audio ads dynamically. However, you can use feeds to condition logic for audio campaigns.
Important: Ensure your campaign's audio assets follow guidelines outlined in Audio Upload Specifications, particularly the minimum quality requirements, since these assets are transcoded to many format qualities during ad serving.
Audio Campaign Settings
The following audio-specific settings are located in the homepage:
-
Skip Offset: If applicable to your media partner, this setting lets you determine when the skip button should appear in the audio player, giving users the option to skip the ad.
- You can select between non-skippable or a skip duration (ranging from 1-10 seconds).
- If the audio is longer than 15 seconds, you should use a skip offset to serve ads into significantly more inventory.
- Selecting a skip duration adds a signal in the VAST tag with the specified offset and a "skip" event tracker that tracks the number of times the audio was skipped.
- During the bidding process, DSPs collect skip offset and audio duration data, influencing real-time bidding decisions for Clinch's creative eligibility. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid modifying the skip offset or audio duration after the tags have been published/trafficked.
