General
Dynamic Product Ad (DPA) is a Meta and Snapchat campaign subtype in Flight Control that allows advertisers to promote their Meta or Snapchat product catalogs across Meta platforms or Snapchat.
In Flight Control, you can create a product catalog feed source for Meta or Snapchat by combining a product feed and an existing creative, allowing you to customize product images within your Snapchat catalog.
A product feed's Catalog Feed tab, accessible when editing a product feed, is where you can create this catalog feed source and use it to upload products when building a catalog in your Meta Commerce Manager account or Snapchat advertising account.
Once you've finalized your product catalog in Meta or Snapchat, you can use it in Meta DPA campaigns or Snapchat DPA campaigns.
Prerequisites
- Create an e-commerce product feed in your Flight Control account.
- Create a Product-feature-enabled creative in your Creative Library. (The creative must be made from a creative template.)
- For Meta: Create a Meta product catalog with at least one product set.
- For Snapchat: Create a Snapchat product catalog with at least one product set.
Creating a Catalog Feed
To create a catalog feed within a Flight Control product feed:
- Go to your product feed's Catalog Feed tab.
- Click Create.
- The Catalog Feed pane will be displayed.
- Enter a name for the catalog feed.
- Optional. Select a product set to use from the feed.
- Select a target platform.
- Map social platform and Clinch field-name conventions by selecting values from the Clinch Fields menus.
- For the Main Image field, use one of the following mapping options:
- Generate using a creative (recommended): Select +Generate using creative and choose a creative from your account's Creative Library. The catalog feed will then use the selected creative ID to generate product images.
- Select a product feed column: Use an existing product feed column to source your images.
-
Optional. Click Add Field to add and map additional catalog feed fields.
- Note: You can include Street Address, ZIP Code, Circle Radius, and additional location-specific fields. This enables support for Meta's location-based catalogs, a catalog type that dynamically shows products available near the user, which you can use in DPA Meta campaigns.
- Click Submit.
- The catalog feed will appear as a row in the table.
- Click on the catalog feed's CSV file link within the table to copy it to your clipboard.
- Create a new "data feed" in Meta Commerce Manager or Snapchat using the copied link and use it to upload items to the Meta catalog.
- For more information, see Meta's "How to upload items to a catalog with a data feed in Commerce Manager" or Snapchat's "Set Up Data Feed".
After finalizing the product catalog in Meta Commerce Manager or Snapchat, you can create a Sales campaign in Meta or Snapchat, associate the product catalog with the campaign, and then sync them with a Meta DPA campaign or Snapchat DPA campaign in Flight Control.
