Creating a Creative Template Tearsheet

You can use creative template tearsheets to review and approve templates and their child creatives. A tearsheet extracts all possible ad variations based on your creative template configurations and displays them in a live preview.
When templates have the Product, Content, or Location features enabled, the setup allows you to select the product, location, and content feed to be included in the tearsheet.

Tearsheets can be shared externally with a public link, which allows anyone outside of Flight Control to access them.

Creating a Creative Template Tearsheet

To create a template within a creative template:

  1. Go to the template's Tearsheet step.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Configure the tearsheet's General settings.New Creative Template Tearsheet 1 of 5.png
  4. If your template has the Content feature enabled, select a content feed.
  5. If your template has the Product feature enabled, select a product feed and product set.
  6. If your template has the Location feature enabled, select a location feed and location set.
  7. Select child creatives to use from the creative template.
    • Note: By default, all child creatives are used in the tearsheet. However, if no child creatives exist yet for the template, a "default template creative" is used. The default creative results from a template's default values configured in its Set step.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Optional. If your template has the Content feature enabled, configure content filters for the tearsheet:
    1. Select a column to filter for in the content feed.
    2. Select a value to locate in the content feed column.
      1. Note: By default, all values are used in the filter.
    3. Optional. Click the plus sign to add and configure more filters.
    4. Click Next to go to the tearsheet's Summary settings.
  10. Optional. If your template has the Product feature enabled, configure product filters for the tearsheet:
    1. Select a column to filter for in the product feed.
    2. Select a value to locate in the product feed column.
      • Note: By default, all values are used in the filter.
    3. Optional. Click the plus sign to add and configure more filters.
    4. Click Next.
  11. Optional. If your template has the Location feature enabled, configure location filters for the tearsheet:
    1. Select a column to filter for in the location feed.
    2. Select a value to locate in the location feed column.
      • Note: By default, all values are used in the filter.
    3. Optional. Click the plus sign to add and configure more filters.
    4. Click Next.

  13. Choose which filters to display in the tearsheet.
    • Note: The Creative filter is selected by default.
  14. Select a variation title.
  15. Optional. Toggle Use Password Protection to require a password to view the tearsheet when using its public link.
    • Password protection applies to users who aren't logged in to Flight Control and users who don’t have the Templates user permission within the account.
    • When toggled, a generated password (that can't be changed) will display. Accessing the tearsheet through its public link will require this password. After enabling password protection, it can't be removed.
    • Note: After the tearsheet is created, you can view the password again by selecting the tearsheet in the Tearsheets table and selecting Actions > Edit.
  16. Optional. Toggle Predict IQ Scores to enable predictive attention scoring for your tearsheet variations and follow the subsequent steps:
    1. Select the gender of your target audience.
    2. Select the age range of your target audience.
    3. Select the country of your target audience.
    4. Select the target device for your ads.
    5. Select the desired platform (placement type) for your ads.
      • Note: Predict IQ Scores is a premium feature available at an additional cost. It is only available for image and video creative templates. Please contact your Clinch account representative to enable Predict IQ Scores for your account(s).
  17. Click Create.
    • Note: A single tearsheet can include up to 1,000 variations. If variations exceed 1,000, return to the tearsheet filter setups and minimize what is included.

Once the tearsheet is created, it will display as a row in the Tearsheets table. You can click on it to view it. For information on using tearsheets, see Using Tearsheets.

Managing Tearsheets

The Tearsheets Table

The Tearsheets step includes a table listing all tearsheets created for the creative template.

Table Columns

The table includes the following information:

Column Description
ID

Displays a tearsheet's ID.

Note: The link located here is shareable, meaning anyone outside of Flight Control can receive and use it.
Name Displays a tearsheet's name. If the tearsheet is password-protected, a lock will display by the name.
Total Displays the total number of child creatives/ad variations in a tearsheet.
Approval Status Displays the current approval status for a tearsheet ("Approved" or "Rejected") and the total number of tearsheet comments.

Actions

Select a tearsheet in the table and click Actions to use the following options:

Action Description
Edit Lets you edit the tearsheet.
Duplicate Duplicates the tearsheet.
Delete Deletes the tearsheet.
