General
You can use campaign and creative template tearsheets to review and approve creative variants. A tearsheet produces all possible ad variations based on the campaign or creative template setup.
Tearsheets can be shared externally, allowing anyone, even without authentication, to access them through a public link.
The Tearsheet Viewer
Click on the tearsheet in the Tearsheets table to access the Tearsheet Viewer. The Tearsheet Viewer has the following sections:

Global Filters:
- Add Filter: Lets you filter variations by placement (in campaign tearsheets) and/or ad format, which also applies to the Ad Variations pane.
- All Formats Filter: Lets you select one or multiple formats to preview in the Preview area. This filter doesn't apply to video campaign tearsheets.

Actions:

Regular Player
: Lets you preview video ad variations as they would appear on a placement (including a campaign's skip offset selection). This only applies to video campaigns and video creative templates.

Photo Strip
: Lets you preview all video ad variations in a convenient strip view, simplifying the process of reviewing ad variations. This only applies to video campaigns and video creative templates.

Skippable Player
: Lets you preview video ad variations with the option to drag the slider to fast forward to any part of the video. This only applies to video campaigns.

Play/Pause control

: Lets you preview ad variations and pause them at any specified point (in seconds). This only applies to HTML creative templates, display campaigns, and in-banner video campaigns.

Refresh
: Updates all ad variations. This is available in all tearsheets.

Export & PDF Export Table
: Click the ellipsis icon to export ad variations to PDF or Excel and to access the PDF Exports Table. Refer to the Exporting Tearsheets section below for more information.
- Preview Area: Allows you to preview the ad variations and formats, with the option to add comments.

Ad Variations Panel & Review tools: Displays all ad variations and their creative IDs. For social campaigns, variations will display their social platform ad and ad set/ad group IDs. The following options are also provided:

Search
: Use it to search for a specific ad variation. This is only applicable to the Ad Variations pane.

Expand/Collapse
/
: Click once to expand the ad variation and see additional information, such as filters. Click again to collapse it.

Filter
: Use it to filter by a specific status.

Copy link
: Use it to share the link either internally or externally.
- This preview link is for a single ad variation.
- This link is public and can be sent to and used by unauthenticated users.

Approve/Reject: Provides built-in approval and rejection options for each ad variation in the tearsheet. You can see who approved or rejected an ad variation, along with the exact timestamp of the review, by hovering over the approval or rejection button in the pane.

Approve All: Click this icon
to approve all ad variations at once. Click it again to undo the action.

Approve: Click this icon
to approve the ad variation. Click it again to undo the action.

Reject: Click this icon
to reject the ad variation. It is recommended that you submit a comment explaining the reason it was rejected. Click it again to undo the action.
- Review Status: Use it to track the number of ad variations that have been approved or rejected.

Search
- Public Link: Click the icon to copy the tearsheet's public URL. You can share it with anyone, even people without Flight Control accounts, for them to review, approve, and comment on the tearsheet.

Comments
: Clicking this icon opens the Comments pane, where you can see and manage any comments added to a variation and any specific ad formats.

Add Variation Comment
: Click this icon to comment on an entire tearsheet variation. A comment indicator (
) indicating the total number of comments for a variation will be displayed beside the Add Variation Comment icon.

Adding a Comment
Commenting on an Ad Format (for Programmatic Campaigns and Creative Templates)
To comment on a programmatic campaign or creative template variation's specific ad format:
- Hover over the ad size you want to add the comment to > click Add Comment.
- Enter a comment.
- Use the "@" character to mention one or multiple account users, and/or add a URL link, if needed. Mentioned account users will receive an email notification.
- Click the arrow (
) to add the comment.
- Enter a comment.
- A comment indicator (
) with the comment's ID will be displayed on the ad format.
- Clicking the comment indicator opens the comment within the Comments Drawer, where you can perform actions such as reply, edit, copy link, and delete.
Commenting on a Variation
To comment on an entire variation (all ad formats):
- Click Add Variation Comment icon (
) for a variation.
- Enter a comment.
- Use the "@" character to mention one or multiple account users, and/or add a URL link, if needed.
- Click the arrow (
) to add the comment.
- Enter a comment.
- A comment indicator (
) indicating the total number of comments for a variation will be displayed beside the Add Variation Comment icon.
- Clicking the comment indicator opens the comment within the Comments Drawer, where you can perform actions such as reply, edit, copy link, and delete.
Accessing Comments
In the campaign map, click the tearsheet to open the Tearsheet Viewer and access the Tearsheet Comment pane.
- In the Tearsheet Viewer, click the comment icon located on top of the ad format in the Preview area or click the comment icon located on the campaign header.
- A "red dot"
will display next to the comment icon in the campaign header, indicating unresolved comments.
Exporting Tearsheets
Tearsheets can be exported in either Excel or PDF format. Both export options take into consideration the filters that you apply to the tearsheet.
Exporting to Excel
- Click the ellipsis button next to the play/pause button and select Export to Excel.
- The exported file will include all building blocks of the ad variation, including Variation ID, Variation Title, etc., along with a public link for previewing the ad variation.
Exporting to PDF
A limit of 1,000 pages exists for PDF exports, and the PDF creation process may take several minutes. Once completed, it’s accessible through the PDF Exports table.
To export to a PDF, click the ellipsis button and select Export to PDF.
This will open the Export to PDF window, displaying the number of variations that will be exported and the estimated time it will take for the export to be available.
- For animated ads, select the number of frames (six maximum) to include per variation.
- Select a specific time for each included frame.
- Enter a name for the export.
- Click Export to initiate the export process and add a new entry in the PDF Exports table.
