General
The fallback creative card represents a creative that is served:
- Whenever the decision path hits an output that is not connected to any following card.
- In video campaigns, when reaching a creative card that does not have the video variation rendered and ready (this can occur during transient periods, when feeds have been updated and the video variations have not finished rendering).
- Any other extreme error.
Within the fallback creative card, you select any standard (non-dynamic) creative from your account's Creative Library that applies to the relevant campaign type.
In social campaigns, the fallback creative card is used to define the ads that will be created in case there is an unconnected output in the card. This ensures that any synced ad set has at least one ad to be served; otherwise, the ad set will not be served.
Adding a Fallback Creative Card
A fallback creative card can be added by clicking the Add Card icon on the top toolbar of the campaign map and selecting Fallback Creative Card. You'll then select the applicable ad type for the card.
- The fallback creative card cannot be connected to other cards and is always a standalone.
- The fallback creative card must be non-dynamic but can include elements such as multiple click-through areas.
Setting up the Fallback Creative Card
The setup of a fallback creative card is similar to a regular creative card except for:
- The selected creative can't use data from product, content, or location feeds (because of the nature of the creative as a fallback).
- The card can't be connected to any previous card in the input (since it acts as a "catch-all" for all fallback cases).
- Only one fallback creative card can be added to a campaign.
