General
The location selection card allows you to select a location from a location feed. The location and its properties can then be optionally used in the design of a connected creative card or the downstream decisioning of a connected card.
The location can represent a store/dealership/restaurant, or any other business.
Note: Location cards and feeds only apply to programmatic campaigns.
Adding a Location Selection CardÂ
A card can be added to a campaign map using one of the following options:
- Clicking the Add Cards icon. This adds the card to the campaign map but doesn't link it to another card.
- Clicking any card's outputs. This automatically links the added card to that card.
Setting up a Location Selection Card
When the location selection card is added to the campaign map, it opens the Settings window:
- Select a location feed to use.
- Select a location set to use.
- Note: By default, the location card utilizes all of your feed's locations. However, you can select a specific set of feed locations using location sets.
-
Select a Location Targeting Method:
-
Nearest store/location (default): Shows the store/location closest to the user's location
- After resolving the user location, the system will select the nearest store/location to the user.
- User location is resolved using geo-information from the DSP (lat/lon, or zip code provided in the ad request) and the user's IP.
- You must enter a maximum distance allowed in kilometers or miles for this targeting method in the User Max Distance From Store field. (The minimum distance is one kilometer. The maximum distance is 200 miles.)
-
By Zip Code: Shows the store/location configured to target the user's zip code.
- The location feed must include a "Targeting Zips" column.
- User zip is resolved using geo-information from the DSP (lat/long, or zip code provided in the ad request) and the user IP.
- If no store/location is identified for the user's ZIP code, the card will use its fallback output.
-
By DMA: Shows the store/location configured to target the user DMA.
- The location feed must include a "Targeting DMAs" column.
- User DMA is resolved using geo-information from the DSP (lat/long, zip, or DMA code provided in the ad request) and the user IP.
- If no store/location is identified for the user's DMA, the card will use its fallback output.
-
By Specific Locations: Shows a specific location.
- Select a Predefined specific location.
- Commonly used as a fallback when the system fails to find a location by geo-information.
- Must select a specific location from the list.
-
Nearest store/location (default): Shows the store/location closest to the user's location
Note: If multiple locations within a location feed are eligible for selection due to matching ZIP codes or DMAs, the system will randomly choose one.
