General
You can add QR codes to creative templates by generating a QR Code dynamic parameter and mapping it to an Image layer. A QR code dynamic parameter can use a single manually inserted URL or multiple URLs sourced from a product or location feed.
Important: QR codes incur additional costs for your account.
QR codes can be applied to any type of creatives (image/video/HTML) and are especially beneficial for ads running on connected TV (CTV) and digital out-of-home environments, where accurate click tracking is challenging, and relying solely on multi-channel attribution may not be enough for measuring user conversions.
QR Code Reporting Data
QR code scans count as clicks when utilized in campaigns, and you can see QR code reporting data within the Campaigns table and My Reports. (The Insights step for campaigns doesn't support QR code "click" reporting.)
The following data can be retrieved from QR code scans:
- Creative IDs
- Product feed and product IDs
- Location feed and location IDs
- Content feed and content IDs
- Campaign IDs (and the campaign version)
Note: QR code scan reporting isn't available for social campaigns. Additionally, placement IDs aren't available for QR code reporting.
User Permissions
- You need the Creative Templates user permission to create or edit templates.
Adding a QR Code to a Creative Template
To add a QR code to a creative template:
- Go to your template's Build step.
- Add a placeholder Image layer for the QR code.
- Note: You don't need to add an actual QR code image. This will be generated automatically. Ensure that the bounding box is a square.
- Go to your template's Map step.
- Add a QR Code dynamic parameter to the template.
- Map the QR Code dynamic parameter to the placeholder Image layer.
- Follow the steps according to the number of QR code URLs you're using:

-
Multiple feed-sourced URLs
